SAFEWatch Houston
The Houston Firearm Injuries Dashboard is a first-of-its-kind public health tool that integrates Level I trauma center data, EMS and police reports, emergency department visits, and mortality records to provide the most comprehensive view of firearm injuries in any U.S. city. Launched through a budget amendment introduced by Council Member Abbie Kamin, it reveals critical trends — including unintentional injuries affecting children and young adults — that traditional crime statistics overlook, helping violence prevention efforts develop targeted, evidence-based strategies. The dashboard is updated quarterly in January, April, July, and October. You can read more about it here.
