East End Rail Safety Task Force

The East End District Rail Safety Task Force is a community-driven initiative dedicated to improving transportation safety, mobility, and overall quality of life in the East End.

By identifying and addressing critical transportation challenges—such as blocked railroad crossings, damaged infrastructure, and inadequate pedestrian access—the Task Force, in coordination with the City of Houston Office of Innovation and other stakeholders, develops solutions to mitigate the impact of train-related disruptions.

This includes analyzing crossing delays, exploring motorist assistance technology, and advocating for practical improvements to ensure safer, more efficient travel throughout the district.
