About Us

Super Neighborhoods 64 and 88 covers Greater Eastwood, Lawndale and Wayside, which is much of Houston’s Greater East End. The Greater East End is a dynamic and diverse neighborhood located in the eastern part of the city. Spanning approximately 16 square miles, it is known for its industrial heritage and vibrant immigrant communities. The area’s close proximity to the Houston Ship Channel and the Port of Houston has historically made it a hub for manufacturing and trade.

However, in recent years, the Greater East End has experienced revitalization and urban renewal efforts, attracting a mix of residential, commercial, and cultural developments. The neighborhood’s rich cultural diversity is reflected in its culinary scene, with a wide range of authentic international cuisines to savor. The East End Historic District showcases the area’s architectural heritage with well-preserved homes and buildings from different eras. Parks like Mason Park provide residents with green spaces for recreation and relaxation.

The Greater East End continues to evolve, with ongoing revitalization efforts aiming to enhance its livability and economic vitality. It remains a vibrant and sought-after neighborhood, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The role of the Super Neighborhood is to support the revitalization while keeping the fabric of the community intact. We work with our civic associations to support meaningful projects which help our communities move forward.
